Berry recruitment is delighted to advise that we are recruiting for Drivers mates roles based out of Watton and Thetford.
The Watton work times will be Tuesday to Saturday. 05:30am start each day. There is no given finish time as it will very much depend on deliveries that are due to be made, traffic on the roads etc.. guaranteed 8 hours paid each day.
Watton Drivers mate role will include calling customers ahead of deliveries to advise of an expected delivery arrival time to ensure they are at home to receive them. You will also be helping the driver to make manually handled deliveries ; these deliveries will include large kitchens, worktops, large diy project items and bathrooms.
The Thetford Drivers mate work times will be Tuesday to Saturday (days will specifically be booked weekly in advance by the client for the following week) with a 7am start time each day and a DBS must be completed for these roles. A full induction will take place prior to be being placed out to work covering expectations, how to manually handle items and use of the various equipment.
Again this Drivers mate role will include calling customers ahead of deliveries to advise of an expected delivery arrival time to ensure they are at home to receive them. You will also be helping the driver to make manual handled deliveries ; deliveries will include generally large electrical items.
You will be inducted and shown how to lift delivery items, strapping and unloading and loading of the lorry. PPE required will be Safety boots, hi vis and gloves.
For the right candidates these roles will be an ongoing position and ultimately could lead to a longer term temp to perm opportunity as more opportunities arise at both locations.
