CNC Milling Programmer /Setter/Operator


Berry Recruitment are pleased to be working with a precision engineering subcontract machine shop that specialises in high quality turning and 5 axis CNC machining in the aerospace, motorsport, defence and commercial customer bases.


They pride Themselves on investing in the best equipment, tooling and training along with having a motivated and skilled workforce.


Due to continued expansion of the capacity, capabilities and an expanding order book they need to find experienced skilled CNC Milling Setters to help fulfil their expanding order book.


In the role of a CNC Miller you will:



  • Control the production of programs and conforming parts on the machines, ensuring that the organisation meets its customers’ expectations of quality and delivery within their team.

  • Work with the Production Manager, Setter / Operators, other Operators, and others in the department in promoting a right first-time approach to all tasks within the department.

  • Adhere to the techniques used within the business, comply with the practices used and promote a continuous improvement ethos within the business.

  • Be willing to learn and become more skilled through training.

  • Work within an AS9100 quality environment.


Key duties as a CNC miller include:



  • Create programs for the CNC machines from models and drawings using CAD/CAM packages for offline programming and online programming on the machines.

  • Specify / select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes.

  • Specify / select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts.

  • Safely operate / use the machine.

  • Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets.

  • Produce conforming parts to the drawings.

  • Complete deburring operations as required.

  • Change inserts, tools offsets when required.

  • Use the SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) to clock on and off the jobs accurately.


As a CNC Miller your Key Skills will include:



  • Experience of programming Fanuc CNC /Siemens Controls.

  • Setting and operating CNC Mills. This is a role that needs skilled programmers / setters.



Overtime:


Overtime is available at 1.33 x the hourly rate.


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent


Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour


Expected hours: 42.5 per week (They pay the 30 break per day which is why it is 42.5 Hrs)
