Berry Recruitment are seeking a Housing Maintenance Surveyor for our client based in the Shefford area.


Role Overview:


As a Housing Maintenance Surveyor, you will inspect council properties to identify defects, manage repairs, and ensure projects meet safety and budget standards, directly enhancing residents' living conditions.


Pay rate: £239.35 per day


Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hybrid)


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct thorough surveys and inspections of council-owned properties to identify and diagnose repair defects.

  • Analyse identified defects to develop effective, cost-efficient remedial work plans.

  • Manage and oversee maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations, safeguarding the well-being of residents.

  • Prepare detailed reports, feasibility studies, and strategic plans on housing-related issues.

  • Utilise desktop diagnosis techniques to assess customer repair enquiries, providing solutions that minimise the need for on-site inspections.


Requirements:



  • Relevant Housing Surveying qualifications or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proven experience in diagnosing and managing disrepair issues within a housing context.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations, building standards, and maintenance best practices.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
