Description:

Berry Recruitment Truro are seeking a Production Engineer, to join a growing sub-contracting engineering company in the Bodmin area. We are looking to recruit a Production Engineer who provides an effective production engineering service from provision of customer quotation through to determination of effective and efficient manufacturing methods.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To assess customer drawings, determining the feasibility of manufacture, suitable manufacturing routes and availability of materials.


• To discuss and resolve manufacturing issues with production staff, ensuring that customer requirements are met.


• To ensure that compliance with company quality procedures (ISO 9001:20156).


• To investigate NCRs, conducting root cause analysis and implementing recommending solutions in consultation with production and quality staff.


• To prepare profile and pre-machining drawings using AutoCAD as needed.

Person specification – Essential Attributes:

• Minimum of apprenticeship/NVQ3 in Engineering.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.


• Sheet metal fabrication experience.


• Excellent attention to detail.


• Confident working alone.


• Proficient use of AutoCAD.


• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Person specification – Desirable attributes:

• 1-2 years experience in similar role.


• Experience of working within ISO 9001 quality system.


• Knowledge and experience of weld procedures and specifications.


• Valid driver’s license.


• Experience of SolidWorks.

The role is 39hrs per week, and the benefits include some of the following:
