Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced to work as a Tea Room/Café Manager in a delightful café run by a new client that is a charity that supports Adult’s with Learning Difficulties.

The café location is in a beautiful rural setting attached to a lovely Garden Centre near Harwell, Oxfordshire.

This position is being offered on a temporary to permanent basis!

Role: Tea Room/Café Manager
Salary: £14 per hour
Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire
Hours: 5 of 7 days – Monday – Saturday – hours between 08.30am -4.30pm – minimum of 2 weekends month
Start Date : ASAP

Key Responsibilities of the Tea Room/Café Manager role:



  • Responsibility for the planning of menus and sourcing all necessary ingredients and produce, ensuring these are sourced locally wherever possible.

  • To manage the stock control and stock ordering to ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained whilst ensuring minimum wastage.

  • To manage all aspects of the preparation of food and beverages necessary to ensure quality and service standards set for the business are maintained, ensuring PWLD are involved, trained, and supported in achieving this goal.

  • To ensure all monies are handling in accordance with company policy, procedures and due diligence and is accounted for and safely managed.

  • To implement a reporting procedure to ensure timely escalation of food or hygiene issues to the appropriate level of management.

  • To market and promote the Tea Room and take responsibility for managing and/or hosting seasonal, and other, events – Christmas, Easter etc. and to monitor and review turnover and sales targets to achieve and exceed targets set whilst maintaining the Tea Room position in the local community and at no compromise of quality and customer service.

  • Responsibility to ensure the building is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness on a daily basis and to report maintenance issues to the appropriate person within the Style Acre organisation as necessary.

  • Occasional collection of supplies and produce from charity hub in Didcot.



About you:



  • Catering experience is essential

  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Qualification is essential

  • Full Uk Driving License – (no more than 3 penalty points)

  • Catering experience – including stock ordering and control, cleaning and cash handling.

  • Staff and Volunteer management experience, including rotas

  • Comfortable with working with people with learning disabilities in any field

  • Ability to work well under pressure, leading by example in a busy environment
